Job Description

Leprino Foods’ history dates back over 65 years, when Jim Leprino first started making small batches of mozzarella for local markets and eateries in the Little Italy neighborhood of Denver. We’ve grown a bit since then. Today, Leprino is the world’s largest manufacturer of mozzarella and lactose, and a leading producer of whey protein. Still owned by Jim and the Leprino family, our sights are set to be the “World’s Best Dairy Food and Ingredient Company.” To help us achieve that bold vision, we’re looking for our secret ingredient: You. A motivated team member who is the best at what you do. Three people in a small corner grocery store in the early 1950s have now grown to over 4,300 employees throughout 16 global locations. Within our 500-person manufacturing facility in Greeley, Leprino is seeking an HR Generalist I to support our people, leaders, and operations as we continue to grow our cheese and dairy ingredients business. This role partners closely with plant leadership and employees to ensure day-to-day HR support, compliance, and workforce needs are handled effectively, consistently, and with care. At Leprino, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $77,000 and $86,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 5%. What You’ll Do:

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with employees and leaders across the plant through consistent presence and clear communication.
  • Coordinate daily HR office activities, including accurate recordkeeping, file management, and smooth employee-facing processes.
  • Apply attendance and timekeeping policies consistently, coaching employees when issues arise and documenting outcomes.
  • Support employee relations by reviewing concerns, conducting low to mid-level investigations, and escalating when appropriate.
  • Write and review disciplinary documentation and participate in employee meetings, terminations, and related discussions.
  • Coordinate recruiting and hiring activities for the site, including posting roles, screening candidates, interviewing, and supporting selection decisions.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring a welcoming and informative start to employment.
  • Facilitate employee engagement efforts, including surveys, focus groups, wellness initiatives, and plant-level programs.
  • Coordinate leave of absence and FMLA processes, tracking status, documentation, and timelines accurately.
  • Administer site-level benefits support, including benefits education, open enrollment activities, and claim assistance.
  • Maintain and use HR systems such as UKG, and SuccessFactors to ensure accurate data and reporting.
  • Prepare reports and audits related to compliance, applicant flow, and HR processes, supporting California employment requirements.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a closely related field (Labor Relations, Safety, etc.).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role supporting employee-facing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and Colorado employment laws, including leave administration, wage and hour concepts, and employee relations practices.
  • Experience using HR systems or the demonstrated ability to learn systems such as SAP, UKG, or similar platforms.
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification.
  • Experience supporting HR activities in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors recruiting or similar applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience assisting with wage review processes or benefits open enrollment activities.
  • Experience in employment law, organizational development & planning, employee relations, safety, and training.
