Job Summary:

The Reports Developer is an IT specialist responsible for analyzing data and reporting needs across various business units. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions using data analytics platforms and visualization tools to deliver actionable business insights. The developer collaborates closely with business leaders, analysts, and engineers to optimize reporting processes and bridge the gap between business intelligence and operational needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand data and reporting requirements.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into detailed data and report specifications.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, and tabular data presentations.
  • Create and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder, and Visual Studio.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support reporting needs.
  • Analyze report requests to ensure alignment with business goals and recommend optimizations.
  • Validate and reconcile data discrepancies across multiple sources.
  • Debug and resolve errors in reports and queries.
  • Document and catalog existing reporting solutions.
  • Perform complex data mining and interpret results using analytical methods.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve user issues related to data, reporting, and analytics.
  • Provide feedback for process improvements and critical metric development.
  • Participate in project activities and quality assurance testing.
  • Assist in implementing and executing project and performance criteria.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Advanced expertise in SQL development on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) and Report Builder.
  • Strong hands-on experience using Microsoft Visual Studio for reporting solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of structured business data analysis and intermediate data modeling.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high organizational standards.
  • Must reside in Virginia and be able to work remotely with onsite availability on demand.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with data analytics and report writing in Mortgage or Financial institutions.
  • Prior technical or functional experience related to business data analytics.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization best practices.
Special Considerations:
  • Remote work with the requirement to come onsite with minimal notice.
  • Assignment duration of 1 year.
  • Must reside in Virginia.

  • Work schedule to support remote work with flexible onsite availability as needed.
