Position Purpose: 

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry. 

Program Dates: June 1, 2026 to August 21, 2026.

Position Summary 

We are seeking a full-time Summer Intern to support the Capital Projects Department. The intern will work closely with both Engineering staff and Operations & Maintenance staff. This position offers hands-on experience, technical training, professional mentoring, and the opportunity to work in a positive, team-oriented environment.

Work Schedule:

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Start Date: May 4, 2026 (if available)

End Date: No later than September 4, 2026

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Candidate must be in the Milwaukee area (on-site role)
  • Support large-scale development and construction projects by assisting with planning, tracking costs/schedules, managing documentation (RFIs, submittals) coordinating teams (contractors, architects, internal staff), preparing reports, and ensuring compliance, gaining hands-on experience in project management, finance, and construction oversight.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks, site visits, and utilize project management software.
  • Will work closely with senior staff to learn processes for delivering complex projects on time and budget.
  • Develop clear, concise, and effective memos / presentation materials for management.
  • Work individually and collaboratively with key stakeholders, build the relationship, and contribute to decision making.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and achieve business objectives.

Work Environment:

  • Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Working towards a four year degree and you have Junior or Senior status in a related Engineering Major (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) 
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands.
  • Ability to solve problems independently with some direction.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Entry-level experience with reading construction drawings, GIS systems, Adobe Acrobat, and other mapping applications is desirable
  • 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A preferred.
  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
